Shimmer Polish Kim

Today I have an epic glitter to show you. And I mean epic. The lovely Cindy behind the glitterific indie brand Shimmer sent me some goodies and I just could not simply swatch them. These polishes deserve to be worn for more than a day. So instead of a Shimmer spam post I am going to show you one at a time. Also because these babies need more than one or two pictures to capture how amazing they are.

Shimmer was created earlier this year, and I'm sure you have seen it pop up everywhere in the last few months. The polish I am sharing with you today was created by Kim of Overall Beauty, and is appropriately named Kim!

Shimmer Polish Kim

Simply put, Kim is a stunner. I literally could not take my eyes of my nails while I was wearing this. My mom and my friend were both ooing and ahhing over it. Kim has a mixture of large and small purple and blue hex glitters as well as some square glitter. Add in a dash of silver holographic, square and hex glitter and you have yourself one beautiful polish. There also looks like there is a little teal and fushica small glitters thrown in there as well.

Gaaaah I cannot get over how gorgeous this is! Oh this is only one coat. ONE COAT. The glitter payoff is insane. I just can't get over how much I love this. Blue glitter? It's my thing yo. (apparently I'm gangster?)

I layered Kim over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Co-Balt Blue for these nails. I actually originally wore Kim over Cult Nails Time Traveler, and that combo looked amazing, however I forgot how much of a bish Time Traveler can be and when I was cleaning up my cuticles were completely stained blue. I still wore it for a night hoping to take pictures the next morning, but in the shower the next day my peel off base coat had other ideas and lifted Kim right off! I'm a little annoyed with Time Traveler, but trust me that the combination was spectacular.

I really wish my pictures did this polish justice. It is stunningly gorgeous. I mean I've worn it twice.

My thoughts are that every polish/glitter junkie needs some Shimmer in their life. It easily has the most glitter payoff of any glitter I've worked with and you can really tell Cindy takes her time with creating these. It's not a random mix of glitter thrown together, it really is something special and once you have it on your nails you won't want to take it off. Or even add nail art. It's perfect just the way it is.

Shimmer Polish is available for $12 a bottle on her etsy shop or you can get Cindy to create a custom beauty for you for only $15! She is currently on vacation, but will be opening up shop again on November 26. Be sure to follow the Shimmer Polish blog and keep up with her on Facebook for all the latest Shimmer news!

Hope you're having a great Thursday! :)

  3. Kim is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! It's so pretty and sparkly and - I just don't know how to describe it. Reminds me of when I first saw a swatch of a holo (GOSH BTW). Shimmer was one of the first indie brands I ever heard of, because I just recently becam interested in polish. And a bit off topic, but is Time Traveler a TARDIS blue?

    1. It is just stunning. That's the best I can come up with without spewing word vomit. lol!
Yes! Time Traveler could be described as a TARDIS blue. I love the colour, but if you're not perfect in application it stains your cuticles really badly :(
