China Glaze Introduces NEW Tranzitions Color Changing Collection

Hey ladies! Yesterday this press release for another new China Glaze Collection popped into my inbox! It is a cool new collection and I think some of you will really like it! Let's jump in!

****************************************************

COLOR + TOP COAT = ENDLESS CREATIVITY

China Glaze® Introduces Tranzitions Color Changing Collection

Los AngelesCA – (November 2012): There’s nail art and then there’s China Glaze® nail couture.  Reverse French manicure, half moons, ombre, basket weave, dots or racing stripes: nail designs are intricate and multi-colored.  China Glaze®introduces a new way to get multi-color, unique nail art with fewer bottles of polish with the new color-changing Tranzitionscollection!

China Glaze® Tranzitions’ revolutionary new nail lacquer reacts when a clear top coat is applied, changing the color from one shade to another for a stunning effect.  Wear any of the six beautiful, color-shifting shades alone, or allow your creativity to run wild and create intricate nail designs by applying a top coat all over or strategically.  Try different looks using nail art brushes, free-hand designs or nail guides.  Because each shade changes color, you get two lacquers in one, creating an entirely new look with just one swipe.

The China Glaze® Tranzitions collection features six shades, though with the color transition, you get 12 unique shades including:

Split Perso-NAIL-ity – Dusty pink shifts to fuchsia

Duplicityy – Mint green shifts to vibrant teal

Modify Me – Periwinkle blue shifts to indigo blue

Altered Reality – Teal blue shifts to turquoise

Metallic Metamorphosis – Silvery grey shifts to bluish-charcoal grey

Shape Shifter – Smokey violet shifts to dark purple

How It Works:
Step 1: Apply a base coat.
Step 2: Apply two coats of China Glaze® Tranzitions shade of choice.  Allow to completely dry.
Step 3: Lastly, apply one coat of clear top coat such as China Glaze® Fast Forward and watch the color change right before your eyes.

The China Glaze® Tranzitions collection will be available in January 2013 at fine salons and beauty supply stores.

What do you think? They look pretty interesting and I think they might be a great way to step into nail art! I'm looking forward to the creme shades most. Which ones do you like?

China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil Worlds Away: Swatches

Morning lovely ladies and gents!

Today I have 6 of the polishes from the China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil Worlds Away Collection to share with you. Promo pictures of this collection first started popping up in the summer and it has been highly anticipated ever since! I am thrilled to have these on/in my hands!

Let's start with the cremes and make our way to the glitters!

china glaze hanging in the balance

First up we have Hanging in the Balance. This is a stunning shade of blue. It is a true cerulean. Unfortunately this is a bish to photograph. I tried this in a bunch of different lights and this is as close as I can get to real life, but it is still a little off. There is touch of green in the base that my camera refused to pick up. Regardless if you love blues, then you need this in your life. It's beautiful. Although this is a stainer, so double up on base coat. Two easy coats.

china glaze igniting love

Next is Igniting Love. I was surprised by how much I actually liked this one. It's a tomato red with some pink undertones. This is as close to a neon as a red will ever get. The forumla on this was the best of the cremes, two easy coats.

china glaze igniting love
china glaze def defying

Def Defying is one of my favourites in the collection. This is a perfect chartreuse. I have seen this be described as a bright lime green, but in my opinion it is perfectly chartreuse, and it's beautiful. The forumla on this was a little gloopy for me, but it evened itself out in two coats. You might need to be a little patient with this one.

china glaze def defying

Now let's take a look at those glittahs.

china glaze water you waiting for

Water You Waiting For I can't not think of Water For Elephants when I say the name of this polish lol. This is beautiful. It's a deep teal blue jelly with micro blue glitter with hints of green and purple. The sparkle is out of this world. I just love it! This is two thicker coats, but if you apply thin coats you will need three for opacity. This is extremely close to Nicole by OPI Kendall on the Katwalk, KOTK is missing the purple glitter, but the two are close enough that you probably don't need both.

china glaze water you waiting for
china glaze get carried away

Get Carried Away was probably the polish I was most looking forward too and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. There is more glitter than base in the polish, which is problematic with the large glitters and the bars. There is no way to apply this other than to dab it on. It is a black jelly base with black and silver microglitter along with black bars, and silver and red large hexes. I've shown it over Igniting Love and Def Defying. I love the idea of this, but the formula falls a little short for me. I have seen this layered over purple and it also looks great over that.

china glaze get it's a trap-eze

Finally we have the absolute standout from the collection, It's a Trap-eze!! This is a light lavender jelly just PACKED with multi coloured glitter. This is your absolute perfect jelly sammich in a bottle. Think Essie Marshmallow and Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday's baby. Again the formula on this isn't magnificent. There is more glitter than base, but in this case this isn't too problematic. Since the glitters are smaller they sit will on the nail and don't drag too much. I did one regular coat and a second dabbing coat to get full coverage. Depending on how you apply this you may need three coats.

china glaze get it's a trap-eze
Phew this is a long post! But I really love this collection. I'm really happy to see such a mainstream brand attempt indie glitters like this. They are really listening to what the people want, which is awesome to see!

If you can only get a few from the collection I would suggest getting your hands on It's a Trap-eze! and Def Defying. They are standouts to me! Which ones are you lemming after?

The official release date is December 1st (tomorrow!), but I have seen these out at Sally's already! See the full press release here.

Have a wonderful Friday loves!

Shimmer Swatch Spam: Mary, Katherine and Tiffany

Hey loves! I was originally planning on posting these one at a time, but I have all three of these sitting here so I figured I would just share all of them in one shimmery, fantastic post!

shimmer polish mary

Shimmer Polish Mary is a red jelly with packed with primarily red, black and silver glitter in a variety of shapes and sizes. It's quite complex and just beautiful. This is two coats with no undies.

shimmer polish katherine

Next I have Shimmer Polish Katherine to share with you. This is a gorgeous brown, orange, and copper small glitter in a clear base. This is super dense and it could be built up to full opacity, but I chose to layer it over Revlon Bare Bones for a shimmery mannequin hands look. I really loved this combination! This was one coat.

shimmer polish katherine
shimmer polish tiffany

Last up is Shimmer Polish Tiffany. There is something so delicate about Tiffany and I felt like my nails were light as air while wearing it. Tiffany is mainly a mix of small blue and pink glitter with a little teal and a darker pink thrown in for good mix. This would look good layered over so many colours, but I chose to use one coat over OPI Tijuana Dance?. The super light pink base makes this so pretty in my opinion!

shimmer polish tiffany

Shimmer Polishes are insanely gorgeous and complex. I love all of them and will be needing more in my collection. I love that with each polish you can tell that Cindy really took her time with these and didn't just throw glitter into some base. I really love these and look forward to pulling them out again and trying different layering combinations!

Shimmer polish can be purchased here for $12 a bottle OR if you contact Cindy she can create a custom polish for you for $15!

Make sure you keep up with Shimmer Polish on Facebook and on her blog!

Wal-Mart Wednesday's: Glitz and Glam

This weeks Wal-Mart Wednesday was a lot of fun to create and I really love the outcome. So let's jump in to this weeks nails, which I've titled Glitz and Glam!

wal-mart wednesday nail art

With the Holiday season fast approaching, I wanted to use these next few weeks to showcase some nails that could be used when heading off to a glamorous event. Hey even girls on a dime want their nails to look drop dead gorgeous! For this week I decided to do nails in a classic colour combination. Red, Black and Silver. Any LBD (little black dress) would look perfect with some red lipstick, silver earrings and these nails.

wal-mart wednesday nail art

For this look I started off with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Rapid Red on my index and ring nails. I used Wet n Wild Black Creme on my middle and thumb nails and Sally Hansen Celeb City on my pinky.

wal-mart wednesday nail art

Since each nail is different I'll start with my thumb and explain each one from thumb to pinky. After the black base on my thumb I just added two coats of Sally Hansen Glass Slipper. This is one of my all time favourite polishes and I think it gives just a hint of shimmer over the black. Mainly just adding depth.
On my index I did a gradient with Celeb City and Rapid Red using a sponge.
My middle nail was a gradient using Glass Slipper but instead of using a sponge I just used the polish brush and first just painted on the tip, then with each coat painted further and further down the nail leaving a little black near my cuticle.
My ring nail is my favourite. I used the brushstrokes technique where you take essentially all the polish off the brush and then did quick random strokes with Celeb City. I did some more random stroked with Rapid Red and then used a q-tip to make the pattern look a little more random. I quite like the result!
My pinky is 2 coats of Celeb City.

wal-mart wednesday nail art

This was a fun and easy look to do! All you need is 4 polishes, a red, a black, a silver and either a glitter or flakie (I think either would work here), a sponge and a q-tip! Again all can be found at Wal-Mart or any other bargain store. Your nails can look fabulous for all your Holiday events even on a dime.

wal-mart wednesday nail art

What do you think of my Glitz and Glam Wal-Mart Wednesday? Would you pair these with a LBD for a night out or to a Holiday party?

If you have any events coming up and are in need of a little nail inspiration send me an email with your colour scheme and I would more than happily come up with some ideas for you! :D I really enjoyed creating this look and can't wait to do more!

Hope your Wal-Mart Wednesday is a great one! Stay fabulous :)
